CAMPUS FILM CLUB AT ONGOLE INAUGURATED
A Campus film club at Government Degree College for Women was inaugurated by Aanand Varala, Secretary Federation of Film Societies of India on Thursday.
The College Principal Dr.Sushelamma presided over the meeting and Dr.Sudhakar was the Chief guest.Varala Aanand speaking on the occasion said that Film making and the TV production may taken as a profession by the students as number of creative opportunities are available in the Entertainment industry. Further he stated that the students have to learn and develop the aesthetic appreciation of the visual media by writing views and reviews on the films screened in the campus film club. Dr.Sudhakar said that students should develop the taste towards cinema, music and other arts o enable them to become good citizens.The Principal said that the college is very thankful to the CCE for giving permission to start film club in the college. She said that the club will be screening meaningful films to the students and conduct the VIEW and REVIEW programme. Course in film making soon
Good news for the students who wants to opt film-making as their career. The Sri Raja Rajeshwara Government Degree and PG College in Karimnagar town has planned to introduce a certificate course in film-making from this academic year.
Stated to be the first-of-its-kind course in a degree college in the State, the certificate course in film-making is designed and supervised by the Film Federation Societies of India (FFSI) and the Karimnagar Film Society.
This six-months certificate course would empower the students with a sound knowledge of the basics required for entering the media industry at the primary-level as assistants or help groom oneself into a good personal film-maker. The course offered include; — film history (birth and evolution), basics in screenplay writing, basics in cinematography, basics in techniques of editing and introduction to documentary and short film formats.
The students would have practical visual exercise and final video exercise, besides theory exams and final written exams.
There would be 16-days contact classes of eight hours each. The entry into the course is plus two and fee for the certificate course is Rs. 2,000. The final exams and practical would be assessed by the internal and external examiners.
The resource persons for the course include; eminent film-maker and cinematographer M.V. Raghu, Ramanaidu film school faculty Venkat Sidda Reddy, Karimnagar Film Society president Varala Anand, film critic Sumanaspathi Reddy and others.

Last date for applying for the certificate course is April 28. The classes would begin from May second week onwards.
